Good start to the New Year
Testing Conditions
With the constant rain from overnight into this morning it brought testing conditions to Greens Norton Road. Both teams started well but it was the Tows who pounced first in the slippery conditions to add the points to the board with centre Adam Wilkinson breaking through with Callum Garwood placing his first conversion of the new year 7-0 . As the ground got worse it was the Towcester centres that seemed to have the action with Thorne Gladwin making the get away to give Tows their 2nd try on the 24th minute but missed the conversion . Things looked like they was going Towcesters way until the pack had to go uncontested with Tyler Aris taking a knock to the head but again within 4 minutes the centres did the damage with Adam getting his 2nd try . At half time fresh legs came into action with Joe Threlfall and Nathan Payne both making along awaited return to the squad but with the Tows being pushed back into their own 22 for some time it was Callum Jones who stole the ball and made the break only to find Hooker Fen Gallagher on his shoulder and with the off load Fen got to score his first try of 2015 . Tows had started to play some very good rugby in testing conditions that was effecting both teams and L/Buzzard wasn't going to let Towcester have it there own way and with some fantastic passing they again pushed the Tows back into the defensive mode but Joe Threlfall and Yuon Skelton doing the hard work turned the tables and stole the ball and within seconds Buzzard had been put into the defending game but it was yuon and Callum that kept making the drive forward and this time Caluum Jones pushed his way over the line for his first try of 2015 and Callum Garwood finished the game off with a conversion. Final Score 31-0.
