Walsall Warriors Tame Tamworth

By

Powerful Walsall produce impressive display to defeat Tamworth.

Walsall produced the best rugby they ever have to secure both games over arch rivals Tamworth.

Match One - Walsall 8 - Tamworth 0

Playing against the slope in the first half Walsall had to defend for long periods against a strong and powerful Tamworth attack and they did so with aplomb. The competition at the tackle, ruck and maul was fierce and rightly applauded by all those supporting & watching.

At half time it was 0-0 and the game could have gone either way.

WOW!!!! playing down the hill Walsall were simply magnificent. Hansen, Brandon and Dominic all shone and Hansen scored a blinder and Brandon two excellent powerful scores. It was our paceman Teddy B however who made the biggest impact crossing 4 times with some sublime running.

Joe D followed up for a well worked score to bring the total to eight.

A fantastic performance from everyone.

Match Two - Walsall 6 - Tamworth 3

Tamworth came out with all guns blazing and really took it to Walsall in the first half using the slope to good effect and pressuring Walsall throughout the half. Three tries to Ethan, Jay and Patrick gave Tamworth a well deserved lead at halftime.

Walsall had it all to do and they dug deep to not only draw level but ultimately run in 3 further scores to win comfortably. Two tries a piece for Joe C, Will R and Joe D.

Summary

We were all delighted with the quality of the performance from everyone today. It shows that the boys do actually listen to us!!!

There was some lovely running and passing from Ky and Dominic. Will played superbly in the second game and Gurdit ran well throughout. Amrit never gave up and tackled and rucked superbly. Finn, after taking a knock, bravely came back on and Jack H put in another solid display and improves week on week as does Sam. Jack T played with his usual enthusiasm. Lewis P was rewarded for his consistency and started the first game but a hand injury forced him off. Lewis W had another excellent game and is a thorn in the side for any opposition.

Man of the Match

Tough this week because everyone played superbly. However Brandon was simply outstanding not just with his powerful running but his awareness of the game, his support, field position and doing the right thing at the right time was what was spot on. Well done Brandon.
