Having lost an early wicket Frensham’s J Wood and A Pailing put on a useful partnership of 36 runs before it all went downhill for the home side and only Richard Champneys of the other batsmen managed to reach double figures. The Waverley bowling attack all used the tricky pitch to the best advantage, none more so than Adrian Day who picked up 4 of the home team’s wickets. After tea Waverley fared no better and a succession of poor shots sent their upper order back to the pavilion. James Frost made early inroads into the side assisted by Matt Taylor who bamboozled both Jim Wright and Simon Brewer. Jamie Harris batted well with some superb drives and partnered by Sam Tempest put on 27, but when skipper Adam Page brought himself on to bowl in a final death or glory action the visitors last 4 could score only 5 more runs and a good win for Frensham was recorded.
Mog won the Man of the Match hat for his four wickets; Russ, the pink T-Shirt for showing pain and Jim the W-Anchor hat for being bowled by a ball that bounced twice!
