Despite being a little short on numbers due to half term absentees, Woodford managed to field a strong side to take on Upper Clapton.
The game started evenly with both sides having chances but failing to make the telling pass. The deadlock was broken in the first half though by a typically mazy run from Alex W which resulted in a deserved try.
The side was then physically lifted by the score and our forwards stepped up a gear, securing ball at both scrum and ruck.
The second half started similarly to the first and only some desperate tackling by Woodford managed to keep out the visitors.
Then, from a well won ruck we managed to string together a couple of passes which gave Kieran the space to get up to speed and break through three tacklers before crossing the line for the second try.
This knocked the wind out of Upper Clapton and the game finished with Woodford the deserved victors.
