ROVERS DUO SHORTLISTED FOR NORTH WEST COUNTIES JUNIORS PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

in their respective age groups at the North West Counties 13s-15s Presentation Day this coming Sunday (19th November).

Full back Best is in the running for Division Three Player of the Year at Under 14s level whilst loose forward Wrench is nominated for best Under 15s Division One player and both will be in attendance at Chorley Town Hall on Sunday afternoon.

Best has been in exceptional form for the Under 14s who were cruelly denied promotion with a narrow 18-12 defeat at Portico Panthers on the final day of the season whilst Wrench was a shining light in the Under 15s Greens side as well as performing so well for Warrington Wolves Under 16s that he earned a call up to the England Under 15s side.

Rovers PRO Dave Whalley said, “As a club we are always delighted when any of our players are nominated for prestigious awards and we would like to wish Kyle and Connor well and hopefully they can both win their respective awards. I know that the pair of them will be the first to acknowledge the fine work that their teammates have put in to give them the chance of claiming the accolade. Both players have proved over the course of the season that they are very worthy nominees.”
