What can i say it was a struggle from the first whistle really. We played a well drilled in Heath II, can't take anything away from them they played a good game of rugby and had a well drilled set of lads with far superior fitness. But with all that in hand i wouldn't let our lads drop their heads and kept driving through, and they pulled it out of the bag in the second half after going 38-0 down in the first. We kept them out for the first 20min of the second half and never gave up after that either. with a last ditched effort and a penalty 5 yards out we pushed through and 2 plays of the ball later Taylor managed to get the TRY down in the corner!
All in all they were a very good team and we played with the lads we had. After taking our own players out thinking their heads were the ball i shall mention no names! :D. And another lad using his testicles to land on (never a good suggestion) we settled players into different positions and gave it our all and came away with what we wanted from the day we scored!
I am very pleased with how the lads put all their effort in and with the help of a few lads from Heath and an old retired player dusting off his boots i got my first game of the season under my belt and with a promotion to captain i couldn't be happier with how the lads performed. Onwards now to the rest of the season see you all next week.
