ASHTON UNITED VS BRACKLEY TOWN
DATE: SATURDAY 18TH AUGUST 2018
KO: 15:00
VENUE: Hurst Cross Stadium, Surrey Street,
Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, OL6 8DY

Ashton come into this game on the back of a solid start to the season in the National League North with two draws, a win and a defeat. Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat to former Football League side York City was the Robin’s first defeat of the season and Jody Banim’s men will be looking to bounce straight back with a victory over Brackley Town.
Brackley Town come into this fixture on the back of two consecutive defeats against Darlington and AFC Telford United respectively and like the Robins will be looking to this game as a kick-start to their season.
Ahead of this fixture assistant manager Simon Woodford had the following to say “The last two games we were at fault, we lost our concentration levels. If we cut out the silly mistakes we’ll do quite well in this league.”

ONE TO WATCH:
Shane Byrne is the one to watch for this weekend’s fixture. Byrne started his career in Dublin and was part of a squad that reached the quarter finals of the FA youth cup in the 2010-11 season. In 2011 he joined Bury on loan and made his professional debut against Sheffield United. Soon after he made the move permanent and spent two years with the North West side before returning to Ireland with Bray Wanderers for the 2013-14 season. He spent one season with Bray before joining Corby Town where he won the Southern Premier League, he then made a move to Nuneaton before eventually joining Brackley Town at the start of the 2016-17 season.

FIXTURES IN FOCUS;
All eyes are likely to be on Victory Park as the early pace setters Chorley face Hereford FC. However there are plenty of other important games going on, especially at the other end of the table, with rock bottom Southport travelling to fellow strugglers Nuneaton Town as both sides look to kick off their season.
The full fixture list for Saturday 18th August is as follows. (All 15:00 KO)
Alfreton Town VS Blyth Spartans
Altrincham VS Boston United

Bradford Park Avenue VS Stockport County
