Rampant Robins On Fire

By

Ashton hit double figures at Uretek Stadium

Ashton strolled to a convincing win over their youthful opponents as they pushed the home side closer to inevitable relegation. Cavell Coo was handed a start at right back with Ryan Crowther dropping to the bench and the avalanche started after just 5 minutes as a poor clearance was collected by Matty Chadwick who played in Josh Stachini to fire home his first goal for the club. 12 minutes later Chadwick picked up a loose ball and sped away from the two centre backs before firing into the far corner.
With just another couple of minutes elapsed Chadwick turned provider as his cross from the by line saw Charlie Duke side foot home his opening goal for the Robins before the hosts could have pulled one back as Max Allen fired wide after Luke Pilling had dwelt on the ball. Chadwick then placed a great chance wide from Jack Dyche’s through ball and Ryan O’Hare tested Pilling low down but on the half hour a fine right wing cross from Dominic Smalley was headed home by Chadwick and the final score of the first period arrived as Chadwick’s corner was headed home by Stephen Mason.

On the resumption Dyche set up Chadwick who brought a decent save out of Hilton but just before the hour a through ball was missed by Hilton allowing Chadwick to round the keeper and complete his hat trick and a minute later Chadwick registered another assist as Dyche finished in off the post. With twenty minutes left Hilton made a point blank save from Chadwick with Lee Knight putting the rebound over the top and a long ball then saw sub Jody Banim supply an easy left foot finish and 10 minutes later the joint manager registered again from another long ball down the middle.
Skelmersdale never gave up and pulled a goal back as Allen beat Smalley and saw his far post cross converted by Nathan Randell and with 3 minutes left a sublime flick by Banim set Chadwick up to fire home his fourth goal.
Team: Pilling, Coo, Maiese (Smalley), Mason, Cartwright, Lees, Duke (Lowe), Stachini, Chadwick, Dyche (Banim), Knight. SNU: Woodford, Crowther.
