Cross comes in

We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Sam Cross for the coming 2018/19 season.

Sam, 23, Basildon based player who is equally at home playing at either centre back or at left back has joined us after recent spells at Bowers & Pitsea and Grays Athletic.

Last season Crossy made 34 appearances for our tenants and scored two goals, including a fantastic free-kick away at the Bostik North Champions AFC Hornchurch in a 2-2 draw.

He's another ex Brentwood Town youth player, cheers Brentwood, and made his debut for them when he was younger.

Sam has also played for Heybridge Swifts and mentioned above Bowers & Pitsea and tenants Grays Athletic.

Crossy has good leadership qualities and is renowned for his prowess on set-piece deliveries.

James Webster on getting his Cross into the club."I tried to sign Crossy last pre-season when I was at Brightlingsea, but Sam was unable to juggle the journey up from Basildon with his job in the City, so he opted to join our tenants instead.
