Manager Scott Reynolds was again slightly hampered with holidays and injuries, but this hastily arranged game against Southern Premier side Banbury United was always going to be a difficult test for the Moles and the side acquitted themselves well, two soft goals conceded ten minutes from the end of the first half being the difference between the two teams.

United had much the better of the opening period and Ashley Jenkins kept FC in the game with an excellent save after just fifteen minutes when a free-kick from wide on the left was headed powerfully toward goal by Jack Finch was turned away by the Aylesbury keeper. Then the two sloppy moments which cost FC the game, Diggin laid the ball back from inside the Aylesbury penalty area into the path of Henry Musaj who slotted the ball home into the bottom corner of the net.

United's second goal came five minutes later minute when a Finch free-kick was floated to the far post and Henderson knocked the ball back into the penalty area for Musaj to score from close range.

The second half was similar to the first with Banbury having the majority of the possession but with Aylesbury holding firm and not allowing any real clear cut chance. With the rising temperatures both sides struggled with fatigue as the game wore on with mistakes on both sides becoming the order of the day.

Next up is our last friendly game when we travel to Northwood on Tuesday evening with a 7.30pm Kick Off
