Aylesbury FC 0 Kidlington 1

Moles out muscled by bottom of the table Kidlington

After the last two excellent results against Dunstable and Bromsgrove, FC went into this game looking at continuing the good run and eyeing a possible first home win of the season, as it panned out that was just not to be, Aylesbury struggled to get to grips with a Kidlington side who just seemed to want this game more. It was only in the last twenty minutes that the side seemed to realise that their predicament as they pressed for an undeserved equaliser.

With Craig Carby, Reece Bayliss and new signing Martin Griggs unavailable, and with Alfi Touceda and Ken Feyi both carrying injuries it was another changed side that took the field at Haywood Way.

It was the away side who had the first chance on six minutes when a dummy from Ben Willoughby allowed Liam Talboys to latch onto the ball and charge into the FC box, he was shepherded wide by Temi Oladejo and shot straight at Nick Bennion in the home goal. Three minutes later though Kiddy had the lead. Willougby was fed the ball, broke into the FC box and his well driven shot flew past Bennion into the top right corner.

FC had again conceded the first goal and this season that has meant just one thing, heads have dropped and the side has struggled to pick themselves up, and this again was the case as passes started to go astray and possession was was lost far too often.

Aaron King was booked for a flailing arm and seemed to be getting frustrated at his lack of chances and service into him. In fact Aylesbury's first real chance came on forty four minutes when Lewis Strafford worked the keeper from range, a slight deflection makes it difficult, but Warrell punched the ball away and out of danger.

Half Time Aylesbury FC 0 Kidlington 1

Aylesbury came out in the second half with Scott Reynolds words ringing in their ears and to start with there appeared to be more of a sense of urgency in the home sides play, a good knock down from Aaron King sat nicely for Ryan Ware but his left footed strike skewed wide of the mark. Kidlington's goal man Ben Willoughby struck over the bar but this game really was short of either style or action in the penalty boxes.

There was another effort by Kiddy's Brad Singh, his effort appeared to catch Nick Bennion by surprise, with his low shot going narrowly wide of the far post., Derek Feyi had an effort saved as the game game petered out.

A disappointing result and performance from the home side but they will have the chance to get back on the horse when Berkhamsted are the visitors to the SRD Stadium on Tuesday night in the League Cup.
