Early Josh Wood goal ends Redhill unbeaten run
Bagshot took on promotion chasing Redhill at Kennels Lane looking to put a stop to the Lobsters 14 game unbeaten run.
Baggies made a couple of changes from the previous weeks win at Dorking, with Mark Thomas partnering Jordan Merriman up front and versatile Ethan Dixon slotting in at full back.
Bagshot took the lead as early as the 5th minute when a clever flick from Mark Thomas put Josh Wood through and he coolly slotted the ball past the keeper, and continued to look dangerous while snuffing out any threat from Redhill.
While Redhill had more possession Bagshot kept their shape well and restricted their opponents to few chances.
The second half continued in the same way as Bagshot put in their most disciplined performance of the season, while not being free flowing football they created several half chances to kill the game off with the second goal.
Both Sam Hanger and Ethan Dixon put in great displays at full back, and Wes Kendrick was outstanding at centre half, nullifying any threat from what has been a free scoring Redhill attack.
With seven minutes of added time Bagshot held on, Mark Thomas clearing off the line from Redhill’s only clear chance. This was a great team performance with all 13 players putting in 100% effort, and Baggies go above Redhill to sit in 3rd place in the league.
