No egg butties or sausage rolls for tea

Nev's toe explodes as Bare put under immense pressure by new team Penrith 2s.
On a gorgeous day at Cross Hill Park, the cricket got under way early as the umpires had an extensive chat with the captains and Phil didn't know what to do when he actually won a toss. Bare chose to bat and it was evenly matched as Bare lost an early wicket but seemed to recover to 22/1. Morland (2/30) struck with 2 quick wickets to remove ex-Penrith Player White for 9. That became 24/4 as the opening bowlers ripped through the top order. A mini recovery as Moorhouseof6 (10) grafted away but Bhardway (29) gave one too many chances and was snaffled as 44/4 became 44/6. Albon (13) was the only other batter to contribute to the Bare total as they were eventually bowled out just after drinks for 76. Crouch with 6/32 was the pick of the Penrith bowlers aided with movement and inconsistent bounce. Lucas (1/0) and Bruce Gleninning (1/13) the other wicket takers as the new recruit of SMartin scored more than his brother and Oz!
After a cracking Mrs Oz tea, with some missing pieces, Bare set about throwing the game due to the nice weather and Bank Holiday weekend. Captain Martin unsure that he had to chose opening ends left it to Oz (2/9) to do the damage with the ball but a recovery of 5/2 became 45/2 until Schweppsty (1/21) decided to bowl properly and removed Parker (14). Albon (2/15) with some cracking swing and pace got in on the party, but with some dropped catches and diving over the catches (ARCHY!) Bare looked at a loss down the barrel. Vish (1/7) came on a seemed unplayable until he decided that he wanted to chuck his shapes in the club and gave Marshal (42 not out) to chance to end Bare's misery. 2 defeats in 2 for the Bare boys and plenty of fines but they hope to bounce back at Heysham 'A' next week. It was good to see the youth of Penrith 2s been so strong (so much that Nevs lbw was a toe splitter...he did catch one of them out though!). Right another cider in order!
