I'm back peeps, and before I start...where the hell were you Vish…massive fine, revising my arse! We lost the toss on a decent day at BLS and were told to bowl. Albon and Oz had BLS 13/2 off 14 with excellent, accurate opening spells including a well retrieved run out from Smotherly. First change bowlers tried to use the cracks in the pitch to there advantages. Brickles (18) and J.Carter (25) steadied the ship but when they tried to accelerate, the secret lemonade drinker took a good return catch and eventually a second chance to Jay was taken. D.Carter came in and offered a few chances early on then batted sensibly with Cole (17) to accelerate after drinks with some buffet bowling. I don't know what happened for a bit as it just went boring and there were dot balls, boundaries including a mahusive 6 and White (3/45) got another wicket. Nev got fed up with that and brought back the opening bowlers as BLS were accelerating at a pace with D.Carter passing 50 and supported by C.Holland (15) till Albon (2/27) used his swinging powers to effect again and Nev snaffled one behind. D.Carter finishing with an unbeaten 69 before having to do a cracking tea with mainly cakes :-) Whar could have been worse for Bare ended up with BLS setting them 153 to win with rain forecast for 7:15.
BLS opening bowlers were accurate to start and Cole (1/33) struck to remove the Bare opener. Bhardwaj (26) was batting well putting the bad ball away until he had a rush of blood getting caught in the not so deep! Oz was building partnerships well around him as Bare went to 98/2 at drinks (off 23 overs). Cook (10) then top edged and was F@~%ing caught! Sharman (14) provided a good 4th wicket partner for Oz till he was stumped. D.Carter (4/48) then span his 4th victim before bowling out. Morgan (2/15) then got in on the act and a Bare collapse looked on as Oz motored past 50 as Bare were 136/6. The light drizzle in the air put the game in the balance but the hot tub was calling so Grandmotherly went mental and ended up carrying his bat for a professional 68 not out. 15 vital points for Bare putting distance between them and BLS.
Next week see Bare entertain Coniston at Cross Hill Park. A big thanks to Zak for your scoring prowess and for the BLS scorer for your patience! Right more cider and packing away :-)
