Side lost 5-0 away to Justin Gardner's Aveley

The scoreline totally flattered our hosts and was no true reflection of the first 60 minutes of play. A very even and dour first period give no indication of the eventual goalfeast that followed. The course of the game was transformed by a harsh penalty awarded against Dan Callaway on 60 minutes. The skipper was then dismissed a few minutes later for a 2nd bookable offence.

The extra man's advanatage then allowed Aveley - who had suffered five consecutive defeats prior to this game to score 4 further goals - but the relief they must have felt at winning was outlined by their celebrations as the goals went in, although a heavy defeat the 'Side didn't disgrace themselves and showed a committed performance in a game that prior to the penalty had a dour draw written all over it.

Even our hosts admitted the scoreline flattered them. Another defeat though, but the two performances this week and the team spirit suggest their is plenty of fight in the sky blues armour this season.
