Barwell had a fine chance to take the lead after just four minutes, when captain Brady Hickey saw his shot crash against the crossbar from just outside the edge of the box.
The visitors' early dominance set the tone for the first half, with the Canaries dominating every passage of play and restricting Needham Market from breaking into their half.
In fact, it took the hosts 21 minutes to register a shot at goal, when Joseph Marsden dragged a tame shot wide.
With fifteen minutes left to play until the break, Needham started to work their way back into the game - with brave defending from Jai Rowe and Brad Gascoigne keeping the dangerous duo of Adam Mills and Luke Ingram at bay.
Needham had penalty appeals waved away at the start of the first half, when Liam Castle was adjudged to have fouled Luke Ingram in the box. The final whistle blew soon after.
After the break, the hosts put Barwell under a little bit of pressure, not allowing to play the free-flowing football in the first half. However, Needham's pressure melted away when Brady Hickey fired a low shot into the bottom corner on 59 minutes.
The Canaries skipper doubled his side's advantage soon after, when he got the final touch on Alex Tomkinson's free kick to divert the ball home and wrap up the three points to take back to Leicestershire.
