Another fine display will earn Nathan Hicks a second successive man of the match award as the Waders ran out easy winners. The first 45 was an even affair with both sides giving good account of themselves. A shock shot from Nathan Hicks, a debatable 30 metres caught the visiting keeper Edward Hewitson by surprise as the power shot hit the net at pace. A Robbie Parker header followed but was well saved by Hewitson. At the other end Merthyr were attacking at pace down the right flank, mostly dealt with by the home defence,. A corner on 31 was not cleared by the waders and Corey Jenkins pounced to head home from close range.
After the break Merthyr were a disappearing side completely dominated as Craig Daniel and co led the charge for the Waders with relentless pressure on the visiting defence. A Kyle Patten clearance shaved his own bar as the home team passed the ball about fluently. On 60 MOM Nathan Hicks collected onto a pass from Craig Daniel, and although not as spectacular as his first. Same result giving the Waders the edge. It was only win the dying minutes Merthyr woke themselves from their mirth and put some energy into a least a point to travel back down the M4. Biggleswade held out although a free kick from Ian Taylor was deflected away as it was net bound very late on.
The home side overall deserved the win on balance of play.
