....throughout the game Carl Brown, Jon Crowford and Michael Tambling had efforts that failed to test James Foster in the Abingdon goal, though it was Abingdon who had the first shot on target when Stuart Young picked on a Michael Jackson error and his shot from 18 yards was palmed out by James Nortei.

Has the first half neared its conclusion Brown had a half volley from 20 yards palmed round the post by Foster.

The second half saw Cleeve camped the Abingdon half, Ashley Caldwell and Alex Sykes shooting wide and Tambling and Jake Lee shooting straight at Foster.

Abingdon should have snatched the points, with their only attack of the half, when Sam Collier caught up with a long clearance and went clear, but with only James Nortei to beat he shot well wide. In time added on a well worked set piece saw Mark Pritchett’s shot from close range blocked on the line.
