Bodorgan couldn't stop Arriva

By

A sterling effort - Close - but no cigar

Bodorgan were determined to put the record straight with the Arriva and began well. It was nip and tuck for the first 15 minutes then suddenly Arriva had a purple patch and the Bodorgan defence couldn't contain their lively attack. Three decent quick fire goals were scored and Bodorgan were left reeling.
Bodorgan netted through a Luke Allaway strike the other end but it was disallowed, presumably for an earlier foul. There seemed no hope for Bodorgan at this stage. However Bodorgan showed real fighting spirit and clawed their way back into the game with a Luke Allaway header. It was 3v1 at half time. The bench remained composed as their really wasn't much in the contest apart from the score line. The second half saw Bodorgan peg back the lead further when Iwan Parry struck a thunderous long strike at goal completely suprising the Arriva goal keeper off his line as the ball looped into the next. At 3v2 Bodorgan went hunting for a third and it soon came from Connolly.
3v3 and Bodorgan were suddenly thinking about winning the game but after a poor challenge on the edge of the box Bodorgan conceded a free kick. Unfortunately the ball went right through the Bodorgan wall leaving the goal keeper no chance. Despite this set back Bodorgan forced a forth goal after determined play from Connolly the ball fell for Allaway who netted his second. It was 4v4 and anybodies game as both sides looked for a fifth.
Again Bodorgan gave away another free kick in a dangerous area and again the Bodorgan wall parted and leaked another shot as they conceded a fifth. This was really disappointing as these two basic mistakes was really the only differnce between the two sides. Arriva netted a sixth goal to pour salt into the wound. The ball rebounded into the path of an Arriva forward following a tremendous save.
The Bodorgan boys were sad to see no reward for all their effort. The team leaked far too many goals again and this will have to change if Bodorgan are going to turn around their fortunes. The last two games Bodorgan have been the architects of their own down fall at times making crucial defensive mistakes. This can be fixed and the Bodorgan strikers will always deliver goals no matter who we play.
