Bulls first half effort decisive!

Improving Juniors loose!
The Juniors travelled to Bryngwran Bulls who were unbeaten in the league thus this was a tough task. The Juniors playing up the slope in the first period could not get started as the Bulls midfield pulled the strings for a lively forward line to fire . From a long ball by the home keeper the Bulls went ahead as Druce headed on for Craig Moore to score from close range on 3 minutes. The Bulls powered forward for a second but the Juniors defence held firm until the 18th minute as Moore again scored from a tremendous solo run and shot. The Juniors midfield were being overrun as the Bulls played neat football however the Bulls could not add to their score until the 28th minute when goalkeeper Roberts upended a Bulls attacker and Moore converted the spot kick. At the end of the half the Juniors had a couple of goal attempts through Connolly and Aaron McGuire ran the length of the pitch only to fire wide. Half Time 3v0. The Juniors had an even start to the second half with the Bulls firing shots from outside the penalty box whilst the Juniors midfield got going and created chances for Allaway. The Juniors were solid and started to play but couldn't find the net until the 85th minute as Nathan Evans the Juniors centre back fired in from a uncleared corner to lessen the arrears but it was a case of too little too late as time ran out for the Juniors to get a second which might have changed the result. For the Juniors Dewi Jones shone whilst for the Bulls Matty Reynolds and Moore had fine matches but Matty Roberts was the star man. The Juniors can take heart that in the second period they did not cave in and actually competed well against a strong team and that the change of emphasis in the second half produced a better response and performance.
