Juniors win scrappy encounter!

Efficient performance wins out!

The Juniors travelled to Pentraeth Reserves on a sunny afternoon and at the start both teams struggled to control the ball. The Juniors got to grips in midfield and on 10 minutes Luke Gardiner shot just wide. On 18 minutes Danny Connolly came close to scoring as he fired just wide.
Pentraeth started to get to grips as Ryan Hughes tried to create along with Dylan Jones .On 20 minutes Tom Jones fired wide and on 23 minutes John Jones headed wide. On 30 minutes Peter Crowe scored after a defensive lapse.The Juniors attacked but to no avail until Connolly nearly scored as his header from a Dewi Jones long free kick went inches wide on 44 minutes. Half Time 1v0 . The Juniors were now going downfield and on 54 minutes Allaway went close. On 65 minutes Luke Gardiner popped up in the penalty box to tap in an Iwan Parry long throw to equalize. On 67 minutes Gardiner again went close as he shot wide. On 68 minutes Iwan Parry hit a tremendous drive goalwards but Andrews the Pentraeth keeper was on hand. On 75 minutes Connolly fired just wide and Allaway beat the Pentraeth defenders and fired goalwards only for keeper Andrews to save. On 83 minutes Allaway passed forward and found Connolly in space between defenders and he calmly placed the ball in the net. Allaway on 84 minutes again went close and Pentraeth then went upfield but John Jones headed over. For Pentraeth Ryan Hughes prompted well and Dylan Jones starred whilst Gardiner for the Juniors was lively upfront and Dewi Jones was solid at the back. Both teams attempted to win the midfield battle neither really succeeding thus the Juniors got the better of a scrappy affair. Full time 1v2.
