Bobcats through to quarter finals
Bradford Town progressed to the quarter finals of the Wiltshire Senior Cup with a 2-0 victory over Royal Wootton Bassett. The visitors had the first real chance of the game on 15 minutes, Steve Robertsons shot comfortably saved by
Jamie Bartlett.
Karim Rendall then provided Leon Greenland with a great opportunity, but his effort was cleared off the line by Bassetts Dan Bailey. On 21 minutes the home side took the lead,
Dan Cottle picking the ball up on the edge of the area & curling the ball into the top corner, past the outstretched Curtis Mearle. On the half hour mark,
Alex Monks brought down Robertson and the resulting free kick struck by Dale Richards crashed against the Bradford crossbar. Sam Packer had another chance before the break but drove wide from 12 yards. Into the 2nd half a
Matt Morris cross found the head of Rendall but his effort was just off target. On 65 minutes the Bobcats doubled their lead with a well worked corner routine straight from the training ground. Monks taking the corner, Cottle flicking the ball straight into the path of
Mark Wall who drilled home. Bradford will now travel to Highworth Town on Wednesday 14th December to look for a place in the semi-final.
