Two first half goals were enough to knock Chasetown out of the Walsall Senior Cup, but the Scholars had more than enough chances to keep their cup hopes alive.
Early on, a Will Whieldon effort from long range was beaten away by Mikes keeper Lewis Fenney. The rebound fell straight to Muzzy Nduna, but Fenney was able to get an arm on the ball to keep out Nduna's shot.
Boldmere took the lead when a cross from the right found Joe Lyng who gave the hosts the advantage.
George Cater then rattled the base of the post as Chasetown looked for an immediate equaliser.
Mikes extended their lead though when Ben Usher-Shipway received the ball from the midfield and fired home.
Fenney was equal to a Joe Thomas shot in the second period but the Scholars were unable to force their way back into the tie.
