Meteorological miracle at buxton as the sun puts its hat on

By

Trys Jamie Barnett Jordan Grayson Leon Owen Conversion Adam pedley

The Panthers travelled to Buxton in both there last game of the season and for the short term future there last outing in midlands 3, confidence was high following the home win to birstall this showed in the early exchanges the Panthers proving an equal match for high flying buxton creating several chances the best coming from live wire scrum Half Grayson only thwarted by some last ditch defending close to there own line from the home side ,defence was turned into attack buxton scoring on the break this lifted the home team and rocked the Panthers buxton getting two more converted trys in the space of 5mins.
Again just like in the birstall game chesterfield dug deep applying pressure within the attacking 22 forcing a kickable penalty but route one was chosen big Jamie crashing over to claim the Panthers first try, despite constant pressure buxton again showing why there a top of table team and reached the rfu final at Twickenham last season getting 3 more trys before half time 2 converted.

Half time score buxton 38 - 5 Panthers

It was Panthers who started the strongest in the second half with big carries from the coaching twins Leon and Lee putting buxton on the back foot something had to give this was to be discipline as a buxton player receiving a yellow for a high tackle jordan Grayson again playing quickly from the resulting penalty to score.
To be fair a mixture of strong defence from the home team and poor decisions from the the Panthers kept parity on the scoreline for the next 10 mins allowing buxton to return to full strength, this was the tonic they needed again getting 3 quick trys 2 converted in the space of 15 mins. Poor discipline again put buxton down to 14 and the Panthers on the front foot Leon Owen crashing over from short range after great build up play from the pack peders converting to claim the final points of the game.
Credit to Buxton many players saying they are the best team they had played this season again this is testament to the lads competing against a top level team again giving us a taster of what this team will achieve in the new season, despite several setbacks this season which would have destroyed most clubs the solid foundations have been laid in preparation for the new season and I for one am very excited!
