Match Preview: Stamford AFC

By William Spauls-Hollis

On Wednesday night, we host Stamford in our latest League fixture at Bradley Development Centre.

We head into the game in fine form, after winning every single game in the league this season, which leaves the Owls sitting second in the league heading into Wednesday, however with a game in hand over league leaders Basford United.

The Owls head into this game with a bit of an injury crisis, with Danny North and Oli Donald already missing previous games through injuries and on top of that, forward Andy Taylor is doubtful due to an injury sustained against Market Drayton on Saturday, which forced him off the pitch at half time. Marcus Newell will be keen to avoid any other injuries today, particularly to any of the strikers, with the squad currently thin in that area.

In opposition, Stamford have been an unpredictable side so far this season, with 1 win, 3 draws and 2 defeats so far and they have looked difficult to beat this season. Due to it being a Lincolnshire derby, Stamford will be undoubtedly up for this game and look to get 3 points.

For the Lincolnshire Derby, it would be good to see a big attendance today, the game is a 7:45 PM kick off and pay on the gate is available.
