Clevedon were forced to make a last-minute change to their teamsheet when keeper Sam Burgess suffered a recurrence of his ankle injury during the warm-up and was replaced by Will Bennett.
Cribbs were quickly out of the blocks and in the 1st minute George King’s run into the box was stopped by Owen Barry’s challenge and with the visitors appealing for a penalty the ref waved away their appeals.
On 2 minutes a corner from the right found George King unmarked at the far post but he could only place his shot wide.
Cribbs took the lead in the 2nd minute when a cross from the right by former Clevedon player Mason Winter found George King at the far post and he had the simple task of tapping the ball home to make the score 0-1.
In the 5th minute a cross from the left by Harry Hope saw Will Bennett get down well to gather the ball at his near post.
On 7 minutes Clevedon mounted their first attack when a cross from the left by Kye Mountford found James Fisher at the far post and he cut inside before seeing his attempted shot blocked by former Seasider Josh Jones.
In the 11th minute the ball was played through for Liam Clayton but Will Bennett was quickly off his line and did well to block the attempted shot with his legs.
Cribbs went close again on 15 minutes when a Mason Winter corner from the left was met at the near post by Chris Kite and headed across goal and narrowly wide of the far post.
James Fisher’s run down the left on 19 minutes saw him brought down by Chris Kite. Kye Mountford took the free-kick and played the ball to the far post where keeper Ben Reed’s punch fell to James Fisher whose attempted shot was blocked.
Clevedon had to be grateful to Will Bennett in the 21st minute when George King played in another former Seasider in Jack McKenna who was through one-on-one but saw his shot saved by the legs of the young keeper.
Clevedon were awarded a penalty on 26 minutes when Alex Camm played a great ball through for James Fisher who was brought down by Josh Jones. James Fisher took the spot kick and unfortunately for the home supporters Ben Reed guessed correctly by diving to his right to push the ball away and see the loose ball scrambled to safety.
In the 29th minute Jack McKenna played in George King whose shot was blocked on the line by Owen Barry and with the ball bobbling around dangerously Will Bennett dived bravely on the ball.
On 32 minutes a run down the left by James Fisher saw him play the ball into the box to skipper Kevin Camargo who laid the ball back for Kye Mountford whose shot was blocked. The loose ball ran to James Fisher and his shot was also blocked and the ball cleared.
Cribbs doubled their lead in the 35th minute. A ball over the top of the Clevedon defence found Jack McKenna and despite Will Bennett coming out to try to narrow the angle the Cribbs man found the top corner of the net to make the score 0-2.

Clevedon came out at the start of the second half looking to get back into the game. On 48 minutes a ball from Jack Boughton down the right found James Fisher inside the box but under pressure from his marker he was forced to shoot wide.
In the 56th minute a long-range effort from Callum Kingdon was easily gathered by Ben Reed and 4 minutes later another long-range effort this time by Glen Hayer saw the keeper diving at full stretch to tip the ball around the post.
Cribbs went further ahead on 62 minutes when a Mason Winter cross from the right found Liam Clayton at the near post and his glancing header nestled into the far corner of the net to make the score 0-3.
Cribbs went close again in the 64th minute when a looping header was tipped onto the top of the bar by Will Bennett with the ball dropping back onto the goal-line and being cleared by Owen Barry.
Clevedon got a goal back on 73 minutes when a run down the right by substitute Tyler Ashmead saw him exchange passes with James Fisher before floating the ball to the far post where Alex Camm had a simple tap-in to make the score 1-3.
Although they tried Clevedon were unable to pierce the visitors’ defence further and Cribbs held on to make the final score 1-3 and complete the double over their hosts.
