Valley win, but not that easy!!
By Bob Beatty
UUC played very well and deserved a losing bonus point.
Clogher Valley recorded a bonus-point win over the Coleraine Students in a high-scoring midweek game under lights at The Cran. Valley's second bonus-point win in a week sees them move up to third place in the Qualifying One table, and right in the mix for an elusive top four spot which would guarantee All-Ireland Cup rugby next season. The loose game suited the visitors as they scored four trys to pick up a losing bonus point. Valley scored six trys but will be disappointed to concede 22 points. Andy Breen scored two trys while
Kyle Cobain,Andy Creaney and
Clive Donaldson scored one each. The other one came from a penalty try.
Paul Armstrong kicked two penalties and three conversion in the 42 point total. The Students showed great resilience and determination to pick up three second half trys to pick up what could be a valuable losing bonus point.
