The First Team finished 2016 undefeated at Ty Brith after beating Llanrhaeadr 2-1. Manager Chris Davies was forced into changes with Captain Steve Jones, Gregg Brown, Andrew Evans and Harry Holt all missing.
We were put under real pressure in the opening 30 minutes and went behind from a free kick. Llanrhaeadr had hit the bar and had a goal ruled out for offside before we fell behind. Ashley Owen and Jordan Jones had our best chances in the opening 20 minutes. As the half progressed we came into the game more. A moment of magic from Richie Evans got us level. He beat his man and fired home from just inside the box to make it 1-1. We finished the half on top, Drew Reynolds had a goal bound header cleared away just before half time.
Neither side create much in the opening 15 of the second half. Ollie Lewis saw a shot go just wide before Peter Rees headed wide from 6 yards out as we looked to take the lead. Llanrhaeadr were then awarded a penalty with 15 minutes to go. Keeper Kris Williams made a brilliant save though to keep us level. The winner came in the 90th minute. Richie Evans stepped up and curled a free kick into the top corner to see us win 2-1.
