Managers Programme Notes;
Good afternoon all,

After 2 weeks on the road we return home today for the first of 3 consecutive home Saturday matches. The 2 away fixtures have seen us gather maximum points against tough opposition in the shape of Croydon and Chatham Town. The games completed a very pleasing month where we won 6 and drew 1 of our 7 matches and that form has seen us rise the table to 4th place. Both the Croydon and Chatham matches were very professional performances and despite not playing as well as we wanted to or passing the ball perhaps as much as we would have liked, the maturity in our performances was so pleasing to watch.

We entertain Canterbury City today and I would like to welcome Ben Smith, his coaching staff, players and supporters to Gay Dawn Farm. Canterbury strengthen their already strong squad over the summer with a number of Ryman league players and are one of the teams I expect to be with the top teams challenging for honours at the end of the season. We know that today will be a tough game, but we go into the match full of confidence following our recent run.

We are in the middle of a very tough run of fixtures at the moment and we have come through the first half in very good shape. The fixtures between now and the Christmas break do not get any easier and will be a test of the physical and mental strength of the squad. We have given ourselves a good platform in the first third of the season to really push on and we are confident that we can achieve our season objectives should we perform well in the next 2 months of the season.

I am delighted to announce the signing of Sam Bewick from Faversham Town. Sam is a player who has played at a higher level and to be able to add someone of his calibre at this stage of the season shows how far we have come as a club. Sam will add quality and competition to the midfield and I am looking forward to working with Sam going forwards. Having added Sam to the squad, it is with disappointment that Ryan Sawyer has played his last match for us this season, as he has returned to Australia to go travelling. Ryan will be a huge miss both on the pitch and in the changing room, as he is a good character to have around.

Tom Reardon, Cameron Heffernan and Joe Hagan are all nearing full fitness and all 3 will take part in the warm up again today as they bid to be fit for the upcoming fixtures. Other than the 3 long term injuries, we are at full strength and the moment and competition for places is incredibly high. The Suburban league side are also doing incredibly well at the moment and there are still a number of players in that squad who are on the cusp of a call up to the first team, so the senior section of the club is in very healthy condition at the present time.

Come on you Hoops!

Michael
