Brief History

Aberffraw Football Club returned to competitive action in August 2008, as the club entered into the North Gwynedd and Anglesey Sunday League. The first season was a steep learning curve as players soon found out Sunday League football was no easy ride. The second season however was much improved as we finished the campaign as Division One League champions and as runners up in the Division One Cup.

A decision was made by the players and committee during the summer of 2010 that following two seasons in the Sunday League it was now time to step up to the Anglesey League and face a new challenge. Undoubtedly the step up to Anglesey League was a huge challenge for the club both on and off the field, but we took to it with great deal of enthusiasm and some real success.

The 2014/2015 season saw Aberffraw embark on a new challenge after promotion was granted to the Gwynedd League and now we enter our 3rd season at Gwynedd League level.

After 2 very encouraging seasons establishing ourselves in the Gwynedd League, our third season saw us go close in a three way battle for the championship, finally finishing as runners-up and with it gaining a well deserved promotion to the next level of the Welsh League Pyramid which will see us enter the Welsh Alliance Division 2 for the upcoming 2017/2018 season, an achievement that all involved with the club are extremely proud of and a new challenge we cannot wait to face!!
