Denbigh Town Reserves extended their run of winning games to five following this comfortable win over Penmaenmawr Phoenix.
This was the third time the teams have met over the last month with Denbigh having previously beaten their opponents 8-0 in a League Cup game at Central Park and then winning 9-2 in a League game at Penmaenmawr.
On a dry cold night the home team started well with Andy Thomas volleying just over after 5 minutes. Billy Holmes opened the scoring for Town on 17 minutes and shortly after Stuart Vernon scored from 10 yards as he skillfully turned his defender to fire home
The visitors put up a spirited response and had their chances with Stuart Griffiths in the Denbigh goal being forced into making some fine saves throughout the game
The second half saw Denbigh extend their lead with Paul Williams claiming two goals in the 55th and 85th minute with his last goal being a deft header just over the outstretched arms of the Penmaenmawr keeper.
This win means the Reserves keep their second spot in the league, six points behind leaders Porthmadog Reserves.
Their next fixture is at home against Kinmel Bay Reserves on Friday 9th November with a 7.30pm kick off
