Dings Cross For Eight.

Bolster masterclass inspires resounding victory.

DINGS ran in eight tries to record an emphatic victory over the Wild Geese at Shaftesbury Park. It could have been a cricket score if Crusaders had not fluffed so many guilt-edge opportunities in the first-half, as passes refused to stick.

Fly-half Ben Bolster was in superb form for the home side, running in a brace of tries and added six conversions to finish with an impressive 22-point haul.

Wing Josh Trinham also crossed the whitewash twice in the second-half as the home side reduced their error count and made the most of the ample possession they enjoyed.

Dings threw the kitchen sink at the visitors in the opening exchanges, but it was the Wild Geese who took a three-point lead with a penalty from fly-half Reuben Knight on 11 minutes.

Dings got off the mark when hooker Tom Anderson went over for a try converted by Bolster. Crusaders went into the break holding a 14-3 lead after flanker Stean Williams burrowed over and Bolster bettered it.

And there was no stopping Dings after the break as they cut loose with some scintillating rugby. Wing Harry dotted down in between Bolsters double before Trinham got two tries in quick succession. Centre Matt Smith finished things off for Dings. Prop Brendan Baker breached the Dings line on 51-minutes for a consolation try for the Wild Geese.
