Umpire and Scoring Course

A reminder of the Introduction to Umpiring Courses taking place in March and April. Please let the club know if and when you book onto these courses.

There is also an Introduction to Scoring course being run by the Surrey Association of Cricket Officials in conjunction with the Wesy Surrey Youth Cricket League. This is aimed primarily at the parents of Colts and Junior cricketers and also costs £5 per person. The course takes place on 21st March 2017 from 7:30pm to 10pm at Weybridge Cricket Club. The details are as follows:

Introduction to Scoring
Presented in a single session, this course is primarily aimed at those who have an understanding of cricket, but not of scoring. It is designed for parents of Junior cricketers, and for those adults who are called upon to score on an occasional basis. These courses are run at £5 per person.
Each course will have a different syllabus, tailored to the wishes of the organisers. This may include manual scoring (both for standard and pairs formats), as well as electronic scoring (using software such as TCS, CricHQ or nxCricket).

The evening costs £5 per attendee (any age) which is payable now.
First of all, please be aware that payment for the course should be made directly to the Surrey Association of Cricket Officials (Surrey ACO), in whose name we train, not to West Surrey ACU&S.
You have two options:
PAYMENT BY CHEQUE
Cheques should be made out to Surrey ACO, or SACO. On the back of the cheque, or in a covering letter, state that the cheque covers the fee for the “West Surrey IU” course together with your name. Send the cheque and letter to the Surrey ACO Treasurer, Paul Bridge, at:

PAYMENT BY BACS
If you’d prefer to pay via direct bank transfer online (BACS) or faster payment through your bank, you can. The account to credit is:

Please add a payee reference to your payment which includes your name and the course, i.e. “West Surrey IU” or “WSIU”. Paul will have no idea who the payment is from or what it’s for if you omit these details!

We do need as many parents and older Colts/Juniors to get involved as possible - an umpire and a scorer are needed for all colts and junior matches and it would be great for the age group managers to have as many parents as possible to call on to help out.
