Last Tuesday the midweek copy of the 'South London Press' led it's non-league column with some of Gavin Rose's new signings:

Hamlet boss is happy to land Jarrett

Former Brighton, Barnet and Gillingham winger Albert Jarrett has re-joined Dulwich Hamlet.
The 30-year-old, born in Sierra Leone, started off in the club's Aspire Academy before making the jump into the professional game with Wimbledon in 2003.
Since then Jarrett has had a string of teams including Lincoln, Boston United and Swindon Town.
"I've known Albert since he was a young lad and left us for professional football," said Dulwich boss Rose. "He has done well but is at that stage now where he is looking at his long-term future. He approached us a week or two ago and said he'd like to play. He hasn't played all season so it will take time to get some match fitness."
Jarrett did start Sunday's friendly against Farnborough, which the Ryman Premier side lost 2-1. Xavier Vidal scored the hosts' goal.
"Before football was his main income but he has got to a stage now where he has other work and is not solely reliant on that," said Rose. "So we can probably afford him. If we get him fit he is at least good enough to play Conference football. It's about us providing the type of service that is needed. He can play either side or even behind one or two forwards. But in fairness I'm not expecting too much from him over the next month-I'm looking at the month after for him to hit the ground running."
Dulwich are at Maidstone United tomorrow. The Kent club drew 0-0 at Stevenage in the FA Cup first round on Sunday. Rose said: "We've had some good battles with them and it should be exactly the same tonight. We won't lie down."

With Maidstone United being in FA Cup action last weekend Dulwich Hamlet found themselves without a competitive fixture.
Instead they took on Conference South side Farnborough FC in a friendly on Sunday which the Hampshire side won 2-1. Xavier Vidal netted for Hamlet whilst Fejiri Okenabirhie scored twice for the visitors.
The rearranged league contest against Maidstone took place last night at The Gallagher Stadium. The game finished after the News went to press.

Friendship key in Hamlet management success

Hamlet assistant manager Junior Kadi believes his long standing relationship with Gavin Rose is one of the reasons they have been a success at Dulwich.
The management duo, along with coach Kevin James, secured Hamlet's first league title in 35 years on 2013 before taking the Champion Hill side to the brink of the Ryman Premier League play-offs last campaign.
When asked why the long standing partnership works the 35-year-old thinks being close off the pitch has helped them work magic with Dulwich on the pitch.
He told the News: "Things just clicked. I have know him for a long time and we are best mates. It's not just football, we know each other families and I was best man at his wedding. We have times where we might disagree but we always come to an agreement. It is one of those things, I can't put my finger on it but it has worked from the start."
Kadi added: "Gavin is the manager but I have been working with him for the best part of fifteen years, I know him like clockwork. We are different in our approaches but we do give out the same message. Maybe I am more of a link to the players. Sometimes as a manager you can't get too close, but Gavin manages really well."
As well as managing a non-league club the duo established a successful football academy, called ASPIRE, in 2002.
Since then the academy, which also works on improving the education level of its graduates, has produced a string of players who have gone on to succeed in both non-league and professional football.
Kadi thinks that the crux of that success is 'improving the person' first, and the rest will fall into place.
But he admits that he has learnt from Rose too, despite them being very much a partnership. The ex-Coventry player said: "I have learnt so much from Gavin. From all the clubs I have been at he is the best coach I have worked with or for. I am talking the professional game too."
Kadi added: "As manager you have to have a different approach. As assistant you can be a bit more laid back and more interactive and sociable with the players. The manager sometimes needs a distance, but still have the ability to put his arm around a player if he needs to, but as an assistant you can be that buffer between the manager and the players. What we do works well in our time at the academy and now at Dulwich."
Despite their differences when it comes to short term targets this season Rose and Kadi, as you might expect, sing from the same hymn sheet.
The Dulwich assistant said: "If we can improve on last season then it is progress. It's a new team so it will always be a different challenge but we will look to improve every season as we always have done at the club. If we perform we can give anybody a game on our day. It's then down to consistency, we have to get that and see where that takes us."

Rose bolsters midfield with capture of Lewes' Dixon

Dulwich Hamlet boss Gavin Rose has swelled his ranks by adding midfielder Jack Dixon.
Dixon, who managed 19 goals from central midfield last season, announced his arrival from Lewes via his Twitter account on Tuesday.
Rose admitted he is a long-term admirer of Dixon. "He's played against us three times since we have been in the Ryman Premier Division and he has always done really well against us," he said. "His goal-scoring ratio is phenomenal for a midfielder, but he likes a tackle too and has a winning mentality. He can help our squad be more competitive."
Dixon was unable to make his debut at Maidstone on Wednesday night due to suspension, which leeps him out for a further two matches.
The Champion Hill side, who are fifth in the Ryman Premier, drew 1-1 at second-placed Maidstone on Wednesday, despite going down to 10 men in the 81st minute when Terrell Forbes was dismissed for a foul as the last man-but the returning Phil Wilson saved the resulting penalty. Forbes had opened the scoring in the 31st minute, heading home a Xavier Vidal cross.
Dulwich host Metropolitan Police in the FA Trophy second qualifying round tomorrow. The two sides ground out a 0-0 stalemate just under four weeks ago.
