Walthamstow 0-6 Dulwich Hamlet

By Liam Hickey

The Hamlet, with a number of trialists in their two separate sides, strolled to a comfortable win in very hot conditions.

Only Preston Edwards completed the full 90 minutes as two separate sides of outfield players completed 45 minutes each. There were a number of trialists on show, with new signings Anthony Cook and Byron Lawrence impressing in the second half.

Familiar names in the first half team were, Tanasheh, Abrahams, Sanchez Ming, Ashley Carew, Gavin Tomin, Michael Chambers and Nyren. Appearing after half time were Nathan Green, Ibrahim Kargbo, Quade Taylor, Nathan Ferguson nd Dipo Akinyemi.

After a slow first 10 minutes, it took a fine tackle from Michael Chambers to thwart Walthamstow's number 11 who was released through on goal. This seemed to awaken the Hamlet and they took a 17th minute lead when one of the triallsts thumped home a shot from 25 yards out that left the keeper rooted to the spot.

Michael Chambers doubled the lead in the 22nd Minute, heading in an Ashley Carew corner before Walthamstow wasted a good chance by firing wide at the far post. Nyren Clunis fired over after the keeper dropped a corner, and the trialist who had earlier scored the opening goal saw his lob thwarted by the fingertips of the keeper.

The third goal duly arrived five minutes from half time from a stunning volley by another of the triatist players as Dulwich went into the break comfortably in front.

Half Time 0-3

A fourth goal arrived in the 47th minute as Ibrahim Kargbo scored another long range stunner before, from a rare Walthamstow attack, Quade Taylor had to clear off the line after a defensive lapse.

Ten minutes into the half, Byron Lawrence set up Dipo Akinyemi but his effort was saved, whilst Lawrence himself aw an effort saved just a minute later.

Goal number five arrived in the 62nd minute as another of the the players on trial cut in from the left and finished across the keeper with goal six arriving just a minute later as Dipo Akinyemi got his name on the scoresheet.

Byron Lawrence saw his effort pushed on to the post in the 64th minute and had an effort saved by the keeper in the 77th minute, whilst Akinyemi saw a 69th minute shot from six yards kept out by the keeper's legs following a cross by Nathan Ferguson.

Akinyemi struck the bar late on with another 30 yard shot and had a goal disallowed for offside following an Anthony Cook cross , whilst Cook also fired just over after cutting in from the right flank.
