Senior Training Arrangements - 2 Oct 2012 to 29 March 2013

By Malcolm MacDonald

Sighs of relief - training resumes on 3G surfaces (no mud!) from Tues 1 Oct. 6-8 Tues at K Park; 6-8 at Ballerup on Thursdays. More detail below

As most of you should be aware, training resumes on 3G surfaces from this week as follows:

Tuesdays: on the K Park at Torrance House, from 6-8 pm. We have a half pitch and expect the seniors, U16s and U18s (latter joint team with Cambuslang to be there). Please note the K Park rules on footwear are set out below.

Thursdays: on Ballerup, 6-8 pm. Initially we have only 1 x 7 aside pitch (effectively 1/3 of K park) in October/early November but this increases to 2 x 7 aside in mid November.

It is recognised that a 6pm start on both nights may be difficult for some of you but do your best to be there on time and if likely to be late, if you have not already told your coach, tell him before Tuesday.

In addition, the Academy have use of the K Park on Fridays from 5 October, using one cage from 6-8pm and 1/3rd pitch from 7-8pm

K Park Rules on Use of Facilities

It is important that all EKRFC players and members who use the K Park facilities adhere to their rules for use of the facilities. These are set out in the box below.

Footwear Policy: K Park’s preference is that users wear rubber molded boots. If you must wear trainers, K Park’s first preference is that you wear dimpled trainers although “normal” trainers are acceptable. If in any doubt about the acceptability of any footwear, talk to the K Park staff before using the pitch.

Forbidden Items:
• No blades or metal or nylon screw in studs permitted at any time.
• No smoking or fire.
• No food or drink
• No chewing gum
• No glass
• No animals
• No vehicles

Rugby club players should not use the K Park if they are muddy/dirty.

Respecting other users of the facility - it is important to respect others using the facility. Any inappropriate behaviour, including physical or verbal abuse of youths/coaches/match officials or others will be dealt with by the K Park Management. They are authorised by the EK Community Trust to expel anyone who fails to behave follow these rules.

Where next?

2nd XV match v Glasgow Accies, 6/10 - OFF An unplayable pitch = 2nd XV match v Glasgow Accies on 6/10 OFF. May not have had sufficient bodies anyway. Player availability article coming Sunday!
With regret - 2nd XV match off (again) this weekend, 2nds XV league match at Allan Glens off this weekend. Lack of bodies. Club (Committee & players) need to seriously reflect on this desperate situation
