Club Announce New Coaching Team

By Martin Baker

- Opportunity to Meet The Coaching Team - 22nd May

The Executive Committee of the Club are pleased to announce the appointment of the new coaching team with effect from May 2018, following the retirement of the Club's long stand coach Ali Cook.

The new Senior Coach is Shane Manning (Pictured) who hails from Napier New Zealand . His previous clubs have included Napier Tech NZ , Vagabonds( Isle of Mann), and Colchester. He joins us form Biggleswade RFC as player and head coach.

When his appointment was confirmed, Shane said," I am really looking forward to taking over as head coach at Enfield Ignatians and can't wait to get stuck in. I like to play attacking rugby which involves every player on the pitch. I believe with what I have seen at the Club both on and off the pitch we can move the Club forward and as long as the players, coaches and myself put in the work we can have a really successful season."

Shane will be supported by Jack Wilson as Assistant Coach. Jack has been a long time member of the Club and his appointment following his retirement from playing due to injury recognises the Club's commitment to succession planning and giving opportunities to its own talented players.

All players are invited to meet Shane and Jack on the 22nd May at 7.30 at the Club to hear how they are planning for the new season.
