Comfortable Win in Dunfermline

Dunfermline & Carnegie 117 for 7 (40 overs)

Falkland 3rd XI 118 for 4 (32.2 overs)
(G.Chambers 48, C.Haresign 34)

Falkland 3rd XI Won by 6 Wkts.

On a wet Saturday at McKane Park, Falkland won the toss and put Dunfermline into bat. The opening attack of Tony Palin and Grant Langlands was unfortunate not to take some early wickets but was effective in restricting the Dunfermline openers. Palin finally got his man clean bowled and the second wicket followed the next over. With the conditions deteriorating the introduction of some spin from Logan Briggs provided a different problem for the opposition leading to the 3rd wicket, caught Francis Stewart at mid off. The next wicket arrived following an excellent spell from Arran Barclay sharply caught behind by Harry Ferguson. A further three wickets from Devon May including 2 in 2 balls meant our opponents posted 117 for 7.

Falkland's innings got of to a flyer with a flurry of boundaries and powerful hitting from Greg Chambers and Cassius Haresign racing to an opening 50 partnership. With Greg Chambers looking to be cruising to his 50 a slight glance of his leg saw him caught behind for 48. Cassius Haresign also looked comfortable before being caught for 34. Despite losing another couple of wickets, Francis Stewart saw Falkland home and win number 3 for the season.
