Fleet fly with the Eagles

The 2nd week in a row that Fleetwood Ladies were on their way to another away match.

This week an intrepid team of 9 players may their way to Leyland Warrior Ladies. Keen to play under any circumstances, both teams agreed to lend players to allow a 12 aside game. The match was made up of 3x 20minutes.
Fleetwood started slow in the first 20 and were soon under the cosh. Leyland ran in 3 well executed tries with no response from Fleetwood.
Second 20 mins with a bit of a team talk and some self confidence, the game flowed better with some strong forwards work putting Leyland on the back foot. Scrum half Sue Anslow controlled the game well and soon got the ball out to Phoebe Partington, to go over for the first try. Now with a bit of confidence, all the hard work and training started to pay off. Hard work from Emma Gray, Steph Franklin and Hayley Dorning saw Phoebe's second try. Just as Fleetwood were getting into their stride, they faced the loss of Ashleigh Hughes and Hayley Dorning due to injury. With rearrangemnt of teams, Fleetwood ladies didnt loose focus and determination which resulted in a try from captain Hannah Walsh.
In the third 20 mins with a good strong run from Laura Dorning and good hands sent Elaine Greenhalgh over the line for Fleetwoods 4th try.
Fantastic game of rugby played in good spirit and looking forward to return match at Melbourne Ave next Sunday (8th April) 3pm KO.
