Despite putting in a battling performance, the Foxes long trip to Kimberley Park, Saltash was a fruitless one. The hosts were first to show, coming close to opening the scoring in the first minute when Adam Attridge’s effort struck the bar. Visiting midfielder Bobbylee Johns stretched the home keeper five minutes before half time with a long range curling effort, but two minutes later the hosts were in front when Darren Clatworthy converted a contentious penalty to give the Ashes a 1-0 half time lead.
In the second period both sides created half chances with neither ‘keeper really tested. With the Foxes pushing for an equaliser the home side struck two further goals in the closing stages to give the final score a rather flattering 3-0 look. Tony Truscott and Lee Watson netting the late goals.
