A welcome 3 points against tough visitors

Saturday provided us with an opportunity to gain 3 points with a great crowd, with various postponements in the league meaning we were one of very few fixtures to take place on a very wet afternoon.

Managers John Cook and Jamie Daltrey were forced into a couple of changes, with Sam Hamer Suspended and Drew Matthews injured, we were delighted to welcome back Ben Dearlove into the team after absence, Roberto Dos Santos still absent due to suspension.

Norman again took between the sticks, Dinsdale, Ward, Kellet-Smith and Horkan provided his cover in defence, Dearlove, McCallum, Primett and Mckinlay took their places in the middle with Bone and Mepham uptop.

The game kicked off and it took a while for players to get used to a tricky playing surface, however AC London were giving the opportunity to score first, with Dinsdale adjudged to have fouled in the area, penalty to AC London which was calmly converted. 0-1 AC London.

Frimley began to get a foothold on the game and were rewarded with an equaliser with Dan Bone slotting home after some great interchanges in midfield. 1-1

A few minutes later, AC London were down to ten, Mepham slid into a 50 50 challenge with the AC keeper and although it was probably a tad dangerous, there was no reason for the keeper to put his hands up to Meps following this and the ref had no choice but to raise the Red card.

With Horkan and Ward screaming with instructions, Frimley began to up the tempo and get hold of the ball, a few half chances followed without success with the HT Whistle being blown. 1-1

Second half, There's a time and a place to take your toilet break, and after halftime isn't one of them. On walking out I see a ball fly high over the fences and start rolling down the hill to the main road. Watching me run after it was worth the admittance fee in itself.... BUT as I got the ball, cheers could be heard, but not for my efforts, I huffed and puffed to get pitch side to see Frimley Green via Eddie Mckinlay had scored. 2-1 Frimley.

Both sides made changes as Frimley continued to push for further goals. Eventually this came via Dan Bone again, a super top corner finish with the outside of his right foot. 3-1 Frimley.

3-1 It finished. After last weeks result, it was great to win this one, any games against AC London are tough and the lads did the managers proud, especially with the enforced changes.

Up next we travel to Deportivo Galicia on Saturday 27th January
