The News everyone has been waiting for.....

A MUST READ!!!

Dear Fullerian

Thank you for your continued support for our great club as without volunteers we do not survive. The committee have been working hard to keep a club working efficiently and smoothly fo you

Clubhouse Amazing News: WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED £50,000 FROM SPORT ENGLAND. This is great news and we have a figure of almost £450,000 to extend the clubhouse. We will have 2 RFU size changing rooms and 4 other sized changing rooms, an officials and medical room. There will also be a bigger social area and the foot flow will work better with a bigger bar and kitchen.

We aim to start on the 1st May 2018 with the works taking 12-16 weeks so ready in time for the following season. We are working with Watford Council, the RFU who have both given us grants but WE MUST DO IT THIS NEXT YEAR OTHERWISE WE WILL LOSE OUR FUNDING.

We have our own funds of course but we need a big push for the remainder of this season to raise as much as we can for any contingencies in the build and have better fixes and fittings :). EXCITING TIMES BUT WE ALL NEED TO HELP

The Ball is on the 9th June 2018 next year at the Watford Hilton (there will be a 20% discount for those who want to stay the night) so please get your tables of 12 ready.

As we approach Christmas there is the easy fund raising link on the fullerians website where through your purchases the club has a donation from the respective departments such as amazon and John Lewis. Please raise any funds you can in your age groups (it is up to you) to build our total!

Other news - We have moved the containers to tidying things up and will paint so they blend in a little more. We will also fit them out for better use of the inside but please be mindful when putting equipment back in.

We have bought a vertidrain for the grounds with a donation from Herts RFU and Herts County Council to improve drainage and help grass condition so less likely to lose training and fixtures for us all!

We have also bought new rugby posts and will put them up soon and move others around to get the best look and usage of them all.

Our girls and ladies rugby is going from strength to strength as is the minis and juniors. The seniors have just managed to keep four teams most weeks but we could certainly do with more players to fill the ranks throughout the club. One part is to help the junior age groups transition into the senior section of the club which can be challenging at times. We have just started running monthly joint sessions with seniors and the colts - one step to keeping players playing! We need members to spread the word that we are around and we are also looking to run the O2 Touch programme over the coming months, the aim of which is to get people reengaged with rugby.

Please keep your eyes on the website for more news and updates.

So keep enjoying and supporting our great club by attending club activities (such as lunches, race nights and of course the ball) as we have a few months to get those last funds into the clubhouse pot. This will then secure a facility for us and the local community for the next generation.

Thanks again
