Town's home campaign ended on a flat note as two goals in each half saw Handsworth ease their way to the league double.

Calum Ward provided the first chance of the game with a dipping effort on 5 mins, but our visitors went ahead only one minute later. Jonathan Hill smashed home the loose ball after a Jordan Turner's far post header had struck the post and a James Ashmore effort was blocked in the six yard box.

Another chance fell to Ward on ten mins when picked out by Lee Turner, his shot with back to goal just wide. Sanchez Payne then forced a stop from Parramore goalkeeper James Leverton after good work down the left by Sean Hunter. Otherwise Town struggled for possession and lacked any real quality in the final third. The visitors' second when it arrived only served to remind us of what we lacked, an excellent delivery from Ashmore found Hill who grabbed his second of the game with a looping header over Lawrie. There was a good chance for Ward on 36 mins when we were awarded a free-kick 20 yards from goal, but his driven effort sailed wide.

The Miners almost went further behind in the early part of the second half; Bradley Nicholson volleyed wide of the angle from Hill's header across the box, before Lawrie denied a Jordan Turner volley from a long free-kick. After surviving that we did a little better; Mark Simpson was unlucky not to halve the deficit on 52 mins when he stretching to get on the end of Lee Turner's delivery and finding the roof of the net.

In the cold light of day however Town had failed to really test Ashmore in the Ambers goal, and the visitors added two more in the last eleven minutes to consign us to a third heavy defeat in four matches. On 79 mins it was 3-0 when Oliver Yates got the better of Hunter down the byeline and found Jordan Turner to bundle the ball home. And they made it four four minutes later when Town switched off from Ashmore's free-kick, allowing Turner to head past Lawrie to join teammate Hill with a brace. In the final minutes there were a couple of chances for a consolation; substitute Aodhan Brownlee put a free-kick just wide of the far post before Matthew Savage's corner kick was headed on into the six-yard box but with nobody to covert.

A whole week without football will come as a relief to many at the club before things become very silly indeed on the fixtures front. Four away games in six days for The Miners commence next Saturday with the short visit to Harrogate Railway (kick-off 3pm).
