First Team vs Liversedge (H) - Tuesday 6th February

By Andrew Marsh

A local derby at the Supply Chain Network Stadium as we entertain 13th place Liversedge (kick-off 7:45pm).

An enforced two week break has forced to Rob Hunter's team to bide their time in bouncing back from the 4-0 defeat at Yorkshire Amateur in our last game, as we look to keep our place in the top ten.

Our neighbours Liversedge impressed many with a 5-1 victory at table-toppers AFC Mansfield a couple of weeks ago, but will seek to get back to winning ways after since suffering defeats at the hands of Pickering and Barton Town.

If the match is anything like August's 2-2 draw at Clayborn it should be well worth the entrance fee. An enthralling encounter saw goals from Lee Turner twice give us the lead, only for Jonathan Rimmington's side to draw level. Town were 2-0 winners in this meeting last season back on 8th February 2017, goals from Sean Hunter and Mark Simpson sealing all three points.

Calum Ward is set to miss tomorrow due to a minor operation on his ankle and is expected to be out for up to four weeks. Mitch Hamilton will also be out after the injury sustained at Rainworth but may be back in time for Saturday. Pete Lawrie, Steve Weatherill, Aiden Kearsley, Ryan Donoghue, Matthew Savage and Dan Coupland will all be available for selection however and Rob has also looked to strengthened his midfield with today's signing of Aodhan Brownlee from Thackley. More on this one to follow.

Hope to see you there, up the Miners!
