GCA - GUYANA DIABETIC ASSOCIATION, PAHO/WHO, MIN. of PUBLIC HEALTH, AMALGAMATED T&G CCU & ANSA McAL – TYPE ONE DIABETES U-17 CRICKET COMPETITION 2017.

The Georgetown Cricket Association and the Guyana Diabetic Association on the 15th April, 2017 launched the GUYANA DIABETIC ASSOCIATION, PAHO/WHO, MIN. of PUBLIC HEALTH, AMALGAMATED T&G CCU & ANSA McAL – TYPE ONE DIABETES U-17 Cricket Competition 2017.

This is the second year of this U-17 competition and each of the sponsors expressed how keen they were to be a part of this competition which will give the youths an opportunity to showcase their skills while raising awareness of Diabetes.

The competition will involve eight teams playing in two zones with the top two teams in each zone advancing to the semi-finals.

At the end of the preliminary rounds where each team played three matches, the points standings are:

Zone A
1. Transport Sports Club – 56
2. Demerara Cricket Club – 40
3. Everest Cricket Club – 23
4. Georgetown Cricket Club – 15

Zone B
1. Gandhi Youth Organisation – 46
2. Malteenoes Sports Club – 40
3. GNIC – 39
4. Saint Stanislaus College – 17.

Both semi-finals are scheduled for Sunday, 30th April at the Demerara Cricket Club Ground. Semi-final 1 will be Transport SC Vs Malteenoes SC starting at 9:30 AM. Semi-final 2 will be Demerara Cricket Club Vs Gandhi YO at 1:30 PM.

The Final is scheduled to be played on Monday, 1st May, 2017 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground. The Presentation Ceremony will take place at the end of the final.
