New venue, new luck?

By Chris Wilson

The Warriors host the Raiders at Coney Hill hoping for a change of fortune and a long-overdue win.

The Warriors have lost five of their last six games including an 84-20 beating by the Raiders in Llanelli.

Their only win came courtesy of the Sheffield Hallam Eagles being unable to raise a side for the game on 25 July.

Having won three of their first seven games, it has been a disappointing second half of the season for the Warriors but they are hoping to end their home campaign with a win.

"The guys at Coney Hill have been very welcoming," said Warriors chairman Chris Wilson. "We hope we can reward them with a good performance and a win."

It will be a tall order against a side that has won its last five matches and is on the verge of the play-off places.

After this game the Warriors conclude their fixtures with a trip to Cwmbran to face the Torfaen Tigers who are also fighting for a play off place.

"We are looking for at least one win from our last two games," said Wilson. "It's important that we finish the season strongly so that we can go into the off season in a positive frame of mind."
