With Mihchael Hollingsworth unavailable, Rhys Lewis returned to his familiar central midfield role and Sam Purcicoe took up the centre half role.
As with many matches this season The Gingerbreads were at it from the off and the match was 18 minutes old when they took the lead.
Ellis Storey got himself down the left hand side and rode two or three challenges before getting the ball across to the far post and it was met by Danny Meadows who headed home, 1-0.
Just 5 minutes later the lead was doubled. With sustained pressure from The Gingerbreads down the right hand side the ball eventually fell to Luke Shaw whose shot beat the sprawling keeper.
Chances kept coming but The Gingerbreads couldn't find a third.
The second half started badly for The Gingerbreads, Felipe Barcelos was fouled on the half way and then had the ball kicked at him. Felipe reacted to this and deservedly was shown a red card.
This put some life into Frickley and Kieran Preston was called into action to pull off two excellent saves. Even with 10 men The Gingerbreads were in control and started to create more chances, Lee Shaw, Luke Shaw and Harry Clifton all went close but in the end the two first half goals were enough.
The three points and results elsewhere mean The Gingerbreads are now 9th in the table 4 points outside the play off places.
Next up we host Clitheroe in the Integro League Cup Semi Final on Tuesday night.
