An unchanged side started at a frightening pace matches by the counterparts.
On 22 minutes, The Gingerbreads opened the scoring. A Curtis Burrows corner was flicked on by Stefan Galinski to Danny Meadows who headed towards and the Hednesford player could only divert the ball into the net.
The Gingerbreads continued to stretch the Hednesford defence, with both Lee Shaw and Jordan Hempenstall working hard upfront. Andrew Wright also saw his shot hit the corner flag.
It was 2-0 just before the half hour but it started from a Gingerbread error. Rhys Lewis back pass didn't reach Kieran Preston and went out for a corner. The corner was well defended and Curtis Burrows was able to break free, flanked by Hempenstall and Shaw. Burrows played in Hempenstall his cross found Shaw at the back post to turn it home.
Stefan Galinski went off injured and r placed by Matt Baker.
Just before and after half time, Hednesford made a couple of substitutions which changed their style of play.
On the hour The Gingerbreads lead was reduced. A long throw beat everyone and was turned in at the back post. This gave the Pitmen extra impetus and pushed on for an equaliser.
Solid defending and handwork was enough to keep them out despite a number of chances.
A break in play following a foul on Lee Shaw, seemed to lift The Gingerbreads and were able to push on.
On 80 minutes, the match was settled. The Gingerbreads broke but Hednesford defended well. The ball though only reached Danny Meadows. His cross was chested up over the oncoming defender and Lee Shaw, once again, was there to beat the goalkeeper.
A couple more chances fell to The Gingerbreads but the match was seen out.
The players joined together with the travelling supporters, whose vocal support was enjoyed all night, to celebrate a devilish and frighteningly great night.
