Town Go Down At City

By Simon Hayes

Tonight at Lancaster City, The Gingerbreads slipped to a second defeat in a row.

Kick off was delayed until 8pm as heavy traffic on route meant The Gingerbreads arrived late.

Zayn Hakeem didn't make the trip due to an injury, it meant Jack McMenemy got a rare start as Jordan Hempenstall is away.

Lancaster took the lead on 21 minutes and doubled it on 56 minutes.

Curtis Burrows pulled a goal back for The Gingerbreads on 64 minutes, when he lashed the ball in after some pinball in the box.

With The Gingerbreads searching for an equaliser, Lancaster capitalised on some slack defending at got their 3rd of the night.

We return to action on Saturday when we make the long trip to Workington.
