Tuesday Night in Staffordshire

By Callum Boyle

Grantham return to league action on Tuesday, making the trip to Keys Park to face Hednesford Town FC.

It was another good weekend for Grantham, with the Gingerbreads winning 1-0 in the FA Trophy 1st Qualifying Round against Halesowen Town, where Jordan Hempenstall netted the only goal of the game.

Opponents Hednesford also progressed to the next round of the FA Trophy with a 1-0 win at home against Mickleover Sports and are now unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions.

With no games played in the league this weekend, the table remains the same with the Gingerbreads in 5th place and Hednesford sitting in 12th place.

With the Gingerbreads in a good run of form having not lost a game in their past five competitive games, manager Adam Stevens says it is important his team to do not get complacent: " The season has been a very positive start and we are in a good run of form but that doesn't mean we should switch off. This league has a lot of good sides who are capable of beating anyone on their day so we need to stay concentrated at all times."

Luke Shaw is not expected to return to the side following his recovery from injury and midfielder Michael Hollingsworth could also be a doubt having taken a knock during Saturday's game with Halesowen. The rest of the squad is available to play.
